Our first battery-powered doorbell camera, the August View, is officially back on the market at August.com. As many of you know, we paused shipping on the August View due to performance challenges our users were experiencing in specific environments. Since then, we’ve updated our software to address these situations. August View now features improved connectivity reliability, higher video quality, faster notifications and quicker device wake-up time, and is ready to give you a virtual front row seat of your entryway.

We’re thrilled to share news of our latest direct software integration —SmartThings! Samsung SmartThings is a centralized home automation platform that allows you to connect and manage your different devices through one simple app. Through this integration, we’re bringing the convenience of all of August’s locks, Yale’s Connected by August locks, and Emtek’s EMPowered Lock, directly to Samsung customers, allowing our hardware to be synced with a wide range of other products and providing even more flexibility in our customers’ lives.
August at IFA: Introducing August Software in Yale EMEA Products

We have exciting news to share from IFA: after over 5 years of our community asking for August products to be available in Europe, we’re finally entering the EMEA market starting with our top-rated software! Launching under the Yale Access brand, our Connected by August module will be rebranded in EMEA as the Yale Access module and is now available for purchase for new and existing Yale Smart Lock owners in the EMEA region. When used in conjunction with the all new Yale Access app (available on iOS, Android, and AppleWatch devices), the Yale Access module will empower compatible European Yale Smart Locks with August’s full suite of capabilities.

We recently began shipping the August View, our first battery-powered doorbell camera. While we remain excited to bring this product to more customers, we are aware of some performance challenges in specific user environments. When you purchase an August product, you trust us with the most important parts of your life: your home and your family. We value your trust greatly and it is our top priority. In order to fully evaluate the user feedback, implement critical improvements, run further testing, and keep our commitment to you, we are pausing shipping of the August View.
