  1. Install the latest version of the August app on your iOS or Android smartphone.
  2. Open the August app near your August Smart Lock and the app will automatically begin updating the firmware on your August Smart Lock within one minute.
  3. Leave your smartphone near your August Smart Lock until the upgrade is complete (5-15 minutes).
