August Home at CES 2020
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! And yes, by that we mean CES. The August team, alongside our ASSA ABLOY sister company Yale, have been at the conference all week, sharing updates and sneak peeks of what’s to come in 2020. Here’s a look at what we announced at CES this year.
Introducing the August Wi-Fi Smart Lock—our newest model that packages August’s signature advanced functionality and security in a sleek product the size of a standard doorknob. Designed by August co-founder and renowned designer Yves Béhar, the lock is 45% smaller in volume and 20% slimmer than the August Smart Lock Pro, sports key new design changes, and is available in our classic matte black and silver finishes. The new smart lock’s built-in WiFi removes the need to pair it with an August Connect, making it an instant, discreet smart home upgrade for any front door. Simply pair it with our 4.8 star-rated August App to secure, monitor and manage access to your home from your phone, from anywhere in the world. It also retains the same DoorSense technology capability and robust integrations with third-party voice assistants, security systems, home automation systems and hosting platforms that August is known for.
Our sister company Yale has launched a brand new smart delivery and storage product line to protect items both inside and outside the home. These include the Yale Smart Delivery Box, Yale Smart Cabinet Lock and Yale Smart Safe. All of these products will be compatible with a new Yale Access app and Yale Connect Wi-Fi Bridge, enabling users to remotely access and manage their smart storage products directly from their phones, or with an optional Yale keypad for phone-free use. An August integration will be coming too, once the new product line becomes available for purchase later this year.
At a time when most people are looking to simplify, secure and up-level their lives, the August family is excited to offer these fresh solutions for the new year. Keep an eye on our channels for more updates from CES, and we can’t wait to see what this year brings for technology and innovation in the smart home space.
