August and Yale Launch Market’s Most Advanced Keypad Smart Locks
Sep 24, 2018
Today, we’re excited to launch the new line of Yale Assure Locks - Connected by August, a special product collaboration with our Assa Abloy sister company, Yale. These locks are the first keypad smart locks to offer popular August features such as: auto-unlock, remote access, universal voice assistant support, DoorSense and secure virtual keys. These new locks leverage Yale’s nearly 180 years of experience in making the world’s most secure locks, as well as the smart home innovation that has made August a leader in the smart lock space. These new locks are just a hint at what is to come from these two market leaders. The Assure Locks - Connected by August allow Yale customers to replace their existing lock and keys with a keypad smart lock that can be unlocked with their preferred method: Auto Unlock via the August app as they approach the door, or a secure entry code on the integrated keypad. Existing Yale Assure Lock owners can also upgrade their current locks with the new Connected by August Kit (includes the August Connect WiFi Bridge, DoorSense™ and August module) and enjoy the same features. Yale Locks that are Connected by August offer a complete feature set not found in other smart locks, such as:
- Lock, unlock, share secure access and monitor activity via the August mobile app - from anywhere
- Keyfree Unlocking - input a unique code to enter your door, even without a phone
- Auto Unlock - the lock will unlock automatically as you approach the front door.
- Auto Lock - no need to manually lock the door behind you - set it to lock as soon as the door closes or after a set period of time
- DoorSense, a sensor that tells the August app if your door is open or closed and allows you to check in, no matter where you are
- Compatibility with all major voice assistants - Apple’s Siri, Amazon Alexa and the Google Assistant,
- Integration with top hosting platforms (Airbnb and HomeAway) and home security systems like SimpliSafe
